Good MG Rover garage needed in the Glasgow area

A new member has requested help in the mgf/tf section I thought I would help her out by posting a link in the general section section her garage is trying to rip her off bigstyle they are asking 2500 to 3000 for what as far as we can tell is just a head gasket failure even if it did need a new engine it is still a blatant attempt to rip off a female motorist who they see as easy meat, the last bit is just my opinion any info on a garage in the area that knows mg rovers and are capable of a good job at a fair price would be appreciated, here is the link

Unfortunately the member (LINDA ES) doesnt say who the garage is however if she reads this then call Paul Macfadden for an honest opinion as mentioned in the other thread by IAZ185.

He's in Motherwell, 5 mins from Glasgow.

theres a guy i used last year, in the gorbals area, in one of the arches,, all he does is rover and mg repairs,, big paintings of both badges on his wall.

my car was broken into and because of which the boot stopped working,, went to see him, he knew what the issue was straight away and even orderd the part for me, only charged me the cost of the new part ( 15 ),, worth a shot

What about the ex rover dealership in glasgow.MACHARGS,most of their techs and master techs are rover trained and the do loads of rover head gaskets as a lot of the older rover drivers still use them.

as mentioned above, i have used the rover workshop at 654 duke st.. call 0141 556 4042 and you'll probably speak to peter who has kept my mg's on the road for more than ten years now. he can skim a head and switch out a camshaft belt really quickly, what he does not do, he knows someone who does.

Don't go near the garage on Duke street ,You will end up with more problems ask around any Local Garages about this one and the answer will be avoid at all costs.
