This afternoon I fitted the sump baffle, refitted the O/S hub/drive shaft and fitted the exhaust manifold.

And discovered a problem with my using the Metro engine mounts. The engine now sits 10mm lower and further back, causing this problem.

To fix this I'm going to shave the tube to clear the flexi and weld in a fillet of steel to fill the hole.

So been a few weeks.
Welding fest today.

Subframe modified.

I've reinforced the tube with 10mm o/d 2mm thick tubing to add strength back, although the tube works under tension rather than compression.

Exhaust hangers welded onto the resonator to help keep the flexi clear.

Subrame mount repaired.

Gearbox steady brackets welded onto subframe.

Had to modify the engine mount arm again as the radius arm was fouling on it.

And finally welded in replacemet nut/plate after the bolt sheared when I removed it - sometime ago...

I am awaiting delivery of an m12-1/8th npt adapter so I can fit the oil temp sender and then the subframe/engine should be ready to go back in.

A few more little jobs done today, including removing O/S rear brake line and repairing it after it failed whilst trying to removed the OE flexi in prep for fitting the HEL lines with 1/8th npt fitting.

Bit of Blue Peter time yesterday with cardboard, scissors, masking tape and side air scoops making extended intakes.

Will try them today.

So tried the intakes on the car.

Won't be using this one.

Think I'll be using the trimmed one.

Oh and I've got the engine ready to go back in - it would be in now but I'm waiting on another full length clutch line to runthrough the inside of the car fm HEL, I asked for the wrong size banjo .

Well after 3 weeks of not being able to get any work done I've fitted the stainless under floor pipes, fitted the oil cooler and more or less plumbed it in.

Busy and productive weekend then.

I like the relocation idea of the airbox and header tank.

What size ends does that 90' silicon elbow have as i'm after one to go on my
52mm TB to get a custom intake setup going ?
