Cor! That's steep!

Oh well I guess the experts can name their price on stuff like that.

Aye, pretty sickening, I wonder how many other Vi/vvc coupes have been scrapped in the Warrington area due to the expense vs value of the car for this type of engine repair? I wonder if that garage has bought a few of them for fixing/breaking, he seemed to be more caught off guard rather than disapointed by the fact that I'd already sold it. Humh!

good work Dr, keep it up.

this must be quite common prob for vvc's, i saw, and more so, heard a VI coming today, sounded like the vvc mech was like this, felt like winding my window down and telling him to come on here

Quite how these ar failing with no apparent warning is a little startling.

Just excess play - the same as Steves was. They run in engine oil, can't really see why the wear.

No - the bearing appears to be "as one" with the shaft. Thought of that already!

Hey ho, thinking along the lines of saving vvc owners plenty pennies. Custom bearing against the cost of new unit.

It'll be nice to hear my baby running again, still hating the diesels replacements lack of revs (wadaya mean 4500 is the rev limiter is you pos!), it makes you realise just how fantastic the vvc engine really is.
