The ball and socket joint affair - there is a simple fix, which I used to do years ago on Rover 800 linkages.

Get yourself a 3mm (or so) split pin. Drill down through the centre of the ball and socket joint and then subsequently fit the pin through the joint, with a suitable small washer on each end. Then stake over the end of the split pin on the now clicked together ball joint - job done!
