Psychonaut is up and running. Hey we all have to start somewhere.
Pics as promised
1st step get the widest elastic you can (b-ham rag market for me)
I used the plastic coat hangers (with metal hooks) snapped of the hanger and bent it into an oval shape so the longest sides were just a bit wider than the elastic and sawed off any excess. do that 4 times then guess how long the straps have to be (based on the point when the annoying bar in hood doesnt lock then shorten it an inch or so (to give tension) )
Then slip 1 elastic end through oval and double back then (get sister to) stitch (or stapel maybe) do the same for the other end and finally grind a nail so that its slightly bigger than the ovals hole (makes the elastic to fat to pull through) but doesnt sit passed the outer edge, with rounded ends. then assemble as the MG instructions tell you mgf.de heres the link to the PDF http://www.mgfcar.de/TF_hood/sab.pdf

Good luck
