I've just received my new replacement spare key for my 2002 Rover 75 Conn Tourer (I only got one key when I bought the vehicle recently). Cost £110 (A$286) complete with barcode. Now I've got to programme it to the car (or is it the car to the key?).

I'm sure I've seen how to do this somewhere, but for the life of me can't find instructions now, and a search of this site didn't produce the goods. Can someone tell me step by step what to do?

Thanks.

Before you pay to have the key programming from the barcode, check that the immobiliser chip in the key is the one for your car, programming from the barcode is only to sychronise the key with the alarm/central locking. The immobiliser chip in the key is factory set for the car it was supplied for, it cannot be reprogrammed.

Reprogrammed today and all is well.

Hi all, I bought a previously owned Rover 75 with 1 key which starts the car. the alarm/locking keys on fob was broken so i sent it to a specialist for repairs. after receiving the replaced FOB i am having problems programming to the car. it looks fine led on Fob flashes when pressed starts the car but cannot opperate central locking by remote.

I have tried resetting the fob by removing battery & pressing buttons approx 10 times to drain, insert batt then locked all doors with key then unlock only driver side then press lock button 4 times rapidly with no success.
is there anything i'm missing?

Any help from anyone would be appreciated. my emails Kevinjarvis2@sky.com if anyone has info. cheers guys
