RE: Ti Gearbox Options

Hi,

My Ti box is on it's way out. I'm going to refurb it but still need to us the car. I'm looking at chucking a 420 diesel box or a 1.8vvc out of a tf which would be best as a few month thing.

thanks

Either way you will have to swap the housing over.

Go for something T series based, 420 nasp will be ten a penny.

Oh you are local. I can build you a box. It would only take a couple of hours.

Naw, forum rates which is beer tax.

I would think a few select bearings and beer tax, you are talking about £60-£75.

put the diesel one on mostin ! that should be great for a laugh, bloody hell imagine the acceleration on that thing , top speed gearing is circa 117 mph so youll be a bit limited at the top end but I should think 117 is enough for most

bad news on the job front mate , that sucks ,

I'll need to come down and get that spoiler off you , hopefully end of nov ? is thats alright with you ,

chin up mate , andy

Diesel box would give a higher top speed not a lower one.
The theoretical top speed would be over 180mph

Hi all,

Sorry for delay in reply been busy busy busy.

Cheers for the rebuild offer will definatly keep it in mind. Can't find a 2ltr nasp box any where at the moment and looking at the box if i'm going to the effort of changing the housing on another box I might as well just open this box up and pop new input shaft bearings and diff ones whilst i'm there. So I have a scrap 820 box well i say scrap the speedo drive won't come out and it's an early non lsd turbo box so used cable speedo. So i'll use this to practice on.

You only need to change the casing on K series PG1 boxes. The prima/L/M/T series boxes will bolt straight on.
