Cleaning throttle body: external tarnish
Well I've tried brasso/duraglit and that did nothing, maybe a splash of petrol? domestic scourer cream? toothpaste?
I don't want a chrome finish, just smart and tidy. What works well boys & girls? |

I used a small wire brush in a dremel to cut through the crud. Leaves it with slight brushed metal look.

I use t-cut metal polish and rub it in using a fine grade of sandpaper.
Works well for me... I dont know if its still on offer but it was 2 tubes for £5 in asda. You'll pay £4 for one in halfords

I soaked it in degreaser overnight, then used WD40 and a rough wet-n-dry hand pad. Seemed to work but it's tough going and takes forever.
Now that my dad has a polishing wheel set up in his work shed, I would use that in the future. |

Wire wool.
It brought my TF135 inlet manifold up a treat and it looks like it's made of similar stuff. |

Would some clear coat applied afterwards be a stupid idea add to the shine and protect it from 'frosting' ?
