Unhappy Cluster test codes

Hi my Rover 75 131 CDTI has started playing up again cutting out and hard to start (after running perfectly for 6 months after changing many parts). Last fix that seemed to resolve my problem was replacing the hp fuel pressure regulator, but car is back to old frustrating ways !

My question however relates to the cluster test codes:-

1/ when carrying out test 6.2, the display changes to _1_6.2 with a code _ _ 0242 having read one thread it says that 1 indicates both sensors ok, 2 a sensor error and 3 a signal error...... Does the number 1 before the 6.2 mean all is well with the fuel sensor ? I am not sure what the 0242 means ......

2/ test 14 error memory......

14.0 returns a code C78100
14.2 returns a code F68400 (the 6 may be a b)
14.3 and 14.4 returns code 000000

Anyone know what the codes mean for test 14 ?

For the curious..

Re the starting issue if I run the low pressure pumps a couple of times (till they time out) it seems to prime the system to allow the car to start. Connecting a multimeter on the HP rail sensor during cranking a reading of 1.4V is achieved within a couple of seconds cranking with a slow decay which reading a few threads implies injectors should be ok ?

Once started if allowed to tick over a few seconds the engine revs freely and smoothly and without warning it can cut out as if the ECU shut the system down.

Guess I need another T4 session to get to the bottom of the cutting our but very curious to know what the above cluster codes mean.

Many thanks......
Eric

Try pinching the spade connectors inside the plastic connector to the fuel rail sensor . they can work loose if tampered with or a ron box or similar has been previously fitted . worked for me -)
