Tried this and it works

Due to all the rain. VOODOO finally gave in and decided to soak my drivers seat. The 1st time he's ever done it !!!

I have a complete set of brand new hood & door seals to fit but thought for the money i would try this as a temp fix until the weather improves.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Einszett-G...#ht_2086wt_952

After application the seals seem much more pliable and seem to seal around the window better. So far no leaks. It may only be a temp fix but thought i would pass the find on to you all.
Peace
John

Even cheaper is to wash the seals in hot soapy water, dry and replace, mine looked like new and have never leaked since

After the heavy rain we had last week, my passenger seat was soaked!

So I think I'm going to get some of this and give it a go too.

Thanks very much for the tip!

I'm going for it too. I'll let you know how well it works on Shakerar who has two slight leaks with the rain dripping onto the woofers.

Thanks John Penelope leaks too and have been looking at a few ways to solve this. Hopefully I'll be able to sort it mechanically by adjusting the door, but this looks like a good second option if that doesn't work.

My MGF is weird, all this rain and theres no wet in mine, seemed to be more in the winter, could it be down to condensation dripping down the windscreen then to the bakc where the firewall is behind the seats ?

Silicone spray/Vaseline on the seals also works.

Update on rubber seal reviver !!!

Its been a week now since using the rubber reviver for the roof seals. Guess what ? VOODOO has not leaked once despite the current storms that are hitting West Sussex, as i type now we are being hit by high winds and rain. I dont expect it to be a long term cure but so far VOODOO is watertight.

Peace
John

Shlurple gave me a wet seat once last week during its first week outdoors for 4 months but that was down to the window not being set correctly and winding up to far and bypassing the seal, still need to reset it but for now if its raining and I have it outside I just wind it up from the pass side with the drivers door shut so it seats correctly
