Admiral and strut braces.... computer says no.....

Evening,

phoned up Admiral today to get a price for adding a strut brace to the car and a Janspeed stainless steel exhaust cat-back system. Exhaust system .... no problem, £25 & a few pennys.

Strut brace though they wouldnt allow and said it would make me too much of a risk. I tried to get around this by asking about taking off another modification (interior modifications, which I have none of other than a few vinyl wrapped parts that Im removing anyway) and fully explaining it to them over the phone what a brace was (as they had no idea what it was to start with) but still a no go.
Just looking now on google, it seems alot of BMW roadster owners have had exactly the same problem with the admiral group (i.e. admiral, elephant and diamond) refusing to insure them if they fit strut bars

Has anybody else had this issue and anybody found a way round it (e.g. emailing someone there with pictures etc. etc. ), talking over the phone to customer services didnt work and I wont fit it not being declared

Thanks,
Luke

If you plan to lots of modifications to your car (as I have) then you may find that Adrian Flux is actually cheaper than Admiral/Elephant! They seem to appreciate that if you have a highly modified car and you a member of a enthusiasts group it shows that you care about your car and will look after it...

admiral are a terrible insurance company for modified cars

they wont insure you with roll cages either, as there attitude is why would you want one unless your driving recklessly or racing

your better of wither Adrian Flux or Sky insurance as they specialise in modified and import insurance

best of luck

try greenlight or a-plan on top of the ones already mentioned.

I ring round all 4 each year and so far have kept my quote stable at about £500 on the derv for the past 3 years now.

im with admiral and they where fine with mods until until i got a email saying payment had been declined i phoned them that cost you btw its not a free number and they said they made a mistake with calculating your premium and wanted £900 on top of what i am paying they also did not ask my permission to take money out of my bank thank god my bank refused payment to them. i am no longer insured with them as i told them to **** off. do not get insurance from them stay away and pay a little more to go with a good company.

Hi

Thank you for the recommendation

I Recenly joined the forum (as a Trader) and work at Greenlight Insurance.

If you wanted us to provide you with a modified vehicle quote please dont hesitate to call or drop me a PM with your number and i'll come back to you.

Things like strut braces wouldnt effect our price at all.

Best Regards
Neil
