Where to buy thermostat from

In the wrong section I know, but the Astra forum are about as slack as a slack thing and I need some help ASAP.

Need a thermostat for my Astra, engine number is Z18XE for anyone wanting to help.

If anyone knows where I can get a thermostat today would be much appreciated.

I'm a typical bloke and left sorting the issue until a few days before going down to Newquay

Any "parts places" near you? they'll stock the right one if you provide them with your Cars reg.

Otherwise you could re-mortgage the house and get one direct from a Vauxhall dealer

Seeing as stats are usually an off the shelf job used by most manufacturers, and therefore most types are common as muck, I'd be amazed if you couldn't walk into a local Halfrauds or any car parts shop/motor factors and get one. I got a Quinten Hazell one from Halfrauds a while back, it was a fair price and perfectly OK.

Or eBay, I just stuck in the engine code and 'thermostat'....

Only local one I can think of is euro car parts, they've got one for £38 but seeing if I can find one anywhere else first

Checked halfords and haven't got anything that fits. I've tried eBay but there's none that are within a 70mile radius :/

There's a Linco branch in Melton Mowbray, but it's about 30+ miles away from you. Linco are very good though. They probably close at 1pm today, but might be useful to remember for the future. http://www.exhaustsunlimited.co.uk/meltonmowbray.htm

Tried Motorsave: http://www.192.com/atoz/business/swa...bdc70792/comp/ I've never heard of them before, they're probably useless.

Where's your local Vauxhall stealer? Tried them yet?

Well, if it's any consolation, I did the thermostat in the missus' car the weekend before we went to almost the same part of Cornwall, and that was a panic job too.... lol

That's funny because my old 416 decided to develop a sticky stat IN Cornwall 3 years ago. 30 degrees outside with the heaters on full to cool things down, now that was a holiday to remember.
