just bought this mg zr car ,and ive noticed some times when i leave the car and i leave it unlocked it locks its self , but sometimes it doesnt ,is it controlled some how on the key fob ???? i can lock and unlock the car no probs on the fob

If you unlock the car with the fob, and then do not open the door within half a minute or so, the ECU automatically re-locks the car.

If you unlock with the fob and you open the door, it will remain unlocked.

On the facelift/Mk2 cars, there is also an auto-locking feature whereby the doors automatically lock once the forward speed exceeds 5 mph. This feature can only be enabled or disabled in the BCU by an MG Rover/XPart service centre using their T4 diagnostic software. It is not something an owner can do themselves.

If the car is randomly re-locking under any other circumstances, I would think there is a fault.

ok thanks ,yeh thats what i did ,i unlocked the car but didnt open the door ,thinking about it and it relocked its self ,
