I have noticed when i open the drivers window the seal moves down a little aswell. So when closing window it reaches seal and then lowers. I have to push the seal back into place the window will close. Ok when stationary but a pain when driving. Any solutions guys thanks.

Stick a bit of superglue between the seal and the door ? then spray the bit where the glass sits with silicone spray (halfrauds 3.99) so the glass slips out of the seal without pulling it , andy

We had a problem on my Dad's front passenger window similar to this. (for some years!)
Every now and again I would try removing the seal hoping we could put it back better, sometimes the window improved but problem always seemed to come back. We always regreased the window mechanism regulary (can not spell). In the end we noticed a tiny blob in the rubber channel which seemed to be in it from when it was moulded. This additional blob was what had been stopping the window closing properly that last bit (& so window would just keep backing off)(always worse when bucketing it down too!), or the window would drag the rubber slightly when opening like yours does. We took the scapel to the offending blob, and it vastly improved the window. Then we scapelled it somemore. The next few times we tried to program windows (after battery disconects)(when doing work on car) the passenger side window just could not seem to fathom out why it could move better than it had ever done, so would often get the funny beeps on the window again. Now though it seems completely satisfied, and means we can almost always use the lazy locking whenever we want too. |
