Remote Operated Boot Release

Having fitted an electric boot release, I also installed a system so it could be operated outside the vehicle from a remote fob. The slight problem with this was that when operated with the alarm set the alarm would go off. I have now installed an 'alarm relay' into the system to replicate the boot lock switch which provides a 'closed contact' signal to the alarm ECU to switch the alarm off when the boot is opened.

The relay is operated in parallel with the boot release solenoid with the relay switched contacts connected in parallel with the boot lock switch by 'splicing' a couple of wires into the cable that runs between the boot key operated lock and the latch.

The following pictures show the installation:-
