How do I make sure new MAF is ok?
Hi,
I have a defective MAF, so I want to replace it. I tried to buy the Pierburg MAF and MAFAM from Ron, but unfortunately PayPal does not accept payments from Romania, damn. I will eventually get the MAFAM, no matter what , but till then, I want to replace the MAF. I've read in several threads that the MAF can be out of spec from the beginning. So how can I make sure I buy a good MAF, and not an out of spec one? Also, I will be able to use the MAFAM (when I get it ) without the Pierburg MAF, right? Thanks guys. |

I guess that a MAF should be "in spec" when you buy it, but they are known to go "out of spec" over time, so you should be okay with buying a new one and running it for a while.
By the way, Ron does a Pierburgh version of the MAFAM, but I think you need to buy an Inlet Air Temperature (IAT) sensor for about £5 (10 Euros?) to go with it, which he sells also |
