Thumbs down SMC Website - False Claims!

Hi peeps, I am not sure this is the right place to post, so if this isn't please move and remove this paragraph!

Basically I was considering purchasing a new ZS180, so I went to the SMC website:

http://www.smc-rover.co.uk/index.php?pk=co_new_mg

and on there web-site, which will probably be changed or removed by the time most read this post:

We are currently looking for Rover/MG vehicles and guarantee to offer you more in part-exchange than any other dealer

Well, Peugeots offered me £10k for may car, but decided against it because I could afford to have a further £10k on the books!

I called up SMC and after explaining the spec, today they said that all they could offer is £8k, yet on there advert they are selling (or was) a TF115 04 plate with 28,000 miles for £8995. Mine being newer, lower mileage and bigger engine as well as all the other stuff attached to it!

So my message to you is, be very wary of SMC as they are not willing to put their money where there mouth is!

As far as I am concerned it's false advertisement!

It just struck me I could guarantee to beat any quote for trade-in by increasing the price of the car I was selling (or not allowing a discount on it) by the same amount!

Only the "price to change" is really relevant...

Still, you're obviously annoyed at where it leaves you...

SMC are offering ridiculously low trade in values at the moment, yet their stock is priced very high.
