Its not a Honda engine it is a Rover T series engine. Prone to leaking there. Are you replacing the gasket?

hi there, yes got new standard gasket. also intend to change cambelt but cant find fan belt adjuster. motor has two plastic dowels for locating head is this right. also should there be an o ring on the oil feed from block to head. gratefull for any advice you can give. especially torque settings

The o ring has to come out ...(actually it's an oil restrictor)...if you fit the later type gasket ..
the later type gasket can be id'd by multiple layers.

I've heard that a screw lightly driven into the oil galery of the block on the head mating face ...can be used to remove the restrictor.

engine has to be suported under the sump ...then right hand mount removed ...you should then be able to undo bottom cover on the cambelt ...and see adjuster.

I say dont go any further without a manual of some sorts........or you're going to end up in big trouble .

pistons have to be in the right place ...pin put in flywheeel etc ...

All the best..mark

All I know is that you don't remove the restrictor if the gasket is not multi layered one.

what guys are you talking about ?
