Hi, it's the ABS sensor on the o/s/f wheel. This is the drive for the speedo.
Same happened to mine 2 days after i bought it. I took the sensor out and cleaned it, but still the same. Ordered a new sensor of e-bay, but before it arrived, ABS light went out, and speedo started working again. And it still is and that was 4 months ago.

It is probably the front right hand side sensor that is the problem. The usual thing is that the cable becomes unclipped and drags on the tyre or drive shaft rubbing through the insulation. Use the search facility for ABS and speedo, you will find lots of useful stuuf.

The speedo works off the right hand side, the cruise control on the left.
