Are the only people buying Rovers , people who already have or know the brand
Makes me wonder seen a few post of late about people finding it hard to sell very good cars private, I wonder if the only people buying are, changing for a better model, other than the Rover they already own, unless you know otherwise, I doubt anyone other than 'US' is buying Rover cars private or dealer forecourt, I may be wrong, shame as the market will shrink and our cars will be almost worthless outside the Rover Clan :-(
What do you think ? TC |

I think the market for MGRover cars is larger than you think. Certainly larger than this forum by a factor of thousands. The problem is that's not large enough.

interesting.
I have just bought a Mk1 53 plate ZT-T 190+ with 21k on the clock. I changed from an 02 plate BMW 320d SE Touring with 100k miles. Would have loved to stay with BMW but it was getting expensive to run, and with first baby on the way, could do with the space. As the car spends 5 days out of 7 on the drive (I cycle to work), diesel and fuel economy were not factors. I didn't really need a new car, just fancied a change. I wanted space, something sporty (I'm not resigned to a people carrier yet!) and something that will make light work of family trips. Above all, it had to be cheap. I basically swapped a 5 year old BMW with 100k miles for a 3.5 year old MG with only 21k. For the money, I could not beat the MG. I've driven a Mondeo and hated it. I would never have a Vauxhall. Audis/VWs are very nice but are over-priced and dull. I used to have an MGF about 7 years ago but only kept that for 6 months - I loved it but I needed more practicality so I bought a Leon. So there are people who are new to Rover who want to buy one - I was wary of the lack of dealer support but was reassured by the internet groups like this one. Unfortunately, the used market in the UK is driven by Badge-Whores so Audi, BMW, Mercedes etc will always do better. |
