supercharged ZS180

its been a while but i have eventually fitted the supercharger to my ZS180.

the kit fitted very well, few issues that i would like to look at further...

the throttle cable seems too short. it works but runs over the top of the charger. i will find one that it a little longer to use instead.
the supplied case for the piggyback is a bit too big to fit anywhere and look good. i will make something that looks a lot better.

thats it really.

im using the supplied piggyback for the moment, which does a perfectly good job. i will be looking into modifying the std ecu in the future.

so, pics..

i do have much larger pics but they were too big for photobucket!

you may see the charger cover does rub on the sound deadening material, i may look at some small spacers for the back of the bonnet to lift it slightly. although you may also notice the original power steering pipe also rubs on the sound deadening!

power.. needs a little more development

Std...

Supercharged...

i have gained 35bhp, but i dont feel its enough just yet.

drives very well, no issues so far. it does need to be driven differently as i have lost a chunk of torque where ive got used to driving.

only other thing is, i cant really hear it! does whine but just not loud enough. so im fitting a bmc next week. that should get me a few more horses too. i will drive it round for a while clocking up some mileage to see how it performs.
after that i will be tweeking the std ecu to find some more power.

cheers
Drew

Good to see someone else is trying the sprintex route as well as George (RSM).

Hope you don't have the same issues the others have had with 'charger failures etc.

I still fancy having mine 'chargered at some point but a lot depends on cost.

The induction change shold give 6-8 bhp more. Does look low from others ive seen even with an extra 6-8bhp. I think an open cone in the inner wing would give the best results.

210bhp seems low but the sprintex kit was designed for 220ps wasn't it. The ZT went on sale in Australia as a ZT220

Only the v6 can cope with it I think ,other 4 pots would pop.

its made to fit the v6, wont be any use on a 4 pot.

mine does make more torque than std, its just moved up the rev range.

yes it is low, but im not going to b/s people with random power figures. this is what it does atm, i need to play with it some more.
