Heater Blowing Hot

After replacing my heater unit, I now find that it only blows hot. After four months of no heat I'm not about to complain - it's been mostly top-down weather since then anyway. I happen to have a spare control unit handy - if I swap them over will this cure my problem?

I tried searching the forum for a solution, but you can't use common terms like 'always' or short words like 'hot', so that didn't get me very far.

Also, I get a substantial amount of heat coming through the foowell panels and the front console - this is normal, yes?

Try this:

1. turn heater control to full cold
2. switch on the a/c
3. eave it until it gets cold air
4. switch off a/c
5. now you should have cold air through the vents.

I do, though why is another question.

On the other hand, take of the panal in the drivers foot well and have some one turn the dials as you watch the control wires, mine weren't pulling right, I had no warm till the dial was half way unless I reved the engine, new wires and fixings on the axis points and all's well. could be yours arent pulling back to close the vents on return......

Hmm if that's the case then it's likely down to my own shoddy workmanship when I put it back together. I shall investigate!
