Location of sensors and other useful stuff.
Due to an overwhelming demand (well, a couple of people) I have labled some pictures with the locations of different sensors and other useful points. It is not an exhaustive list and will be added to, in fact, please feel free to add to it if you have any pics. I have tried to identify the different sensors using my workshop manual, but I may have got things wrong, after all, I am only human (honest), so please feel free to point out any innacuracies (Like my spelling
). Some of these sensors are particular to the TF, but most are common across the models. So here goes. The next picture has been changed as the previous VVC pic showed the brown and black connectors reversed. Thanks to Tim for pointing this out.

Sorry CJJ but when I see someone set such high standards I am forced to ensure that they keep them up. It's your own fault really. If you were a muppet I wouldn't follow your posts with such interest...

Brilliant CJJ, I don't yet need to understand many of the pics but at least I'll know where to look if ever I do

Said I wouldn't post in here but cracking work CJJ. Lets leave it for a week or so for other contributors and agree to delete the comments posts. Then we can ask that it be closed and stickied in the how to's when everyone that can has contributed
![]() Everyone can have a go. It doesn't matter imo if there's any apparent duplication of photos, each will show something that the other might not. |

I often refer people to these non-VVC timing mark images from the How Do I section -
We could do with an image showing the roll pin positions too. I know one exists, but I can't find it (hence the need for this thread). |

Well done guy's, I'm so jealous of the quality of your camera work
Maybe one of the members with their own web site could do an indexed page of these pics ( if that wouldn't break forum rules ). Top notch workGaz

Not up to CJJs standards, but this is the speed sensor on top of the gearbox as viewed from above through the opening in the boot to the left of the engine block.

Cheers for that. I have looked and I haven't got a photo of it at the minute.
Are those brown wires for the big fuse where the cross braces meet? and that looks like the evaporative cannister on the left.

You have a different speed sensor to mine. Earlier cars had a cable operated ones as opposed to the later electrical ones. I'll get a pic of mine later along with some of the subframe when I swap bits over
![]() Excellent pics both of you though. Especially good to see where the crankshaft sensor is as quite a few people have had trouble with them lately

Yes, it would save many of these "I've replaced the HG on my car and it won't start" type of threads when they've got the cam timing out!
