clio immobiliser bypass??

hey, have a 1996 metal-winged clio here, when i connect the Positive lead to the battery the speakers "thump", then you get in and have to lock and unlock the doors to get the immobiliser deactivated to allow you to start the car. the battery drains in around 2 days and i believe something is live, is it possible to remove a fuse or something to bypass the immobiliser to rule this out??

help very much appreciated.

Hmmm if it's the factory imboiliser then i doubt it's this (also only way of deactivating it is through you kind yet expensive friends at renault had a 19 16v that the alarm had to be deactivated with a code put through the throttle pedal and one of the stalks which renault won't give you and even charge for the phone call to france to get the code (not heard of e-mail yet the french).

when you say the spreakers thump do you mean the stereo speakers. If so then thats your clue. take the fuse to the stereo out. Do you have things like a sub and amp in there if so check these are being switched on by the stereo and not permently on.

Also is the battery topped up and in good condition? use a multi meter and check what current is being drained when the car is switched off.
