hi hope someone can help with this
ive got a problem with the imobiliser on my 45 it started on weds my clifford alarm stopped locking the car so i changed the fuse as it had popped, then when i did this my rover imobiliser activated itself again and when i went to start the car it would bleep, after spending hours finding the rover fob i de-activated the rover imobiliser but the car still wont start it just turns over. I think the problem is due to the fuel pump because i cant hear it when i turn the ignition to number II, although it was working fine before ? |

its a rover 45 petrol. the clifford was wired in to the loom by gap security but since then i have taken the engine and loom and put it in a different car and this is when the problems started, every time i would use the rover fob it would pop the fuse so i just didnt bother with the rover alarm i just had used the clfford which had been ok till weds. i have checked the fuel pump fuse and its ok

This is going to be a complex problem, as the engine and loom have been swapped to another car.
All you can do is check the wiring running off that fuse for shorts to earth.

i just stripped down the under the steering wheel and looked for a bare wire but couldnt find any i un hooked the clifford and it made no difference, i did realise though that it pops the fuses when the doors are unlocked but ok when locked, i starting to think that the fuel pump not working may have nothing to do with the alarm but im not sure
