When you change or disconnect the battery it will lose all power to the 5as, you need to resync, to do this press unlock 5 times iirc, it might be more times, then lock it etc, it will dis-arm the immobilizer and you'll be able to start the car.

Failing that, it could be the MFU has buggered, as the MFU contains the starter motor relay, when they fail they allow the fuel pump to prime but wont allow the car to start.

by silver box do you mean big square silver box near the RHS wing, thats the ecu, i doubt thats clicking.

more likely to be the throttle stepper motor, which makes a clicking noise when you turn the ignition off or when you reset it by having the IGN on and pumping the throttle 5+ times then turning the ign off.

Check the starter solanoid hasnt come adrift when you changed the battery.

If it is in position, switch on the ignition & connect a wire from the battery +ve terminal to the starter solanoid (you will need to remove the original wire to do this).
MAKE SURE THE CAR IS OUT OF GEAR & BE V CAREFUL WHEN DOING THIS!

If the starter spins over & the engine starts you know you have some kind of wiring fault. If it doesnt then your starter may be goosed or you possibly have a bad earth connection.

Have you tried bump starting it,
Metro starter motors hate to be laid up and if it bump starts fine just needs a replacement starter motor.
