ZT-T CDTI gear ratios

ok nice and easy test for people with ZT-T CDTI's.....

im trying to find out what ratio the BMW box has, so if anyone can do the simple test for me on your next drive i will be very greatful...

lets say 2000rpm in every gear....

so if you could just fill in the gaps for me

1st gear 2000rpm = .......

2nd gear 2000rpm = .......

3rd gear 2000rpm = .......

4th gear 2000rpm = .......

5th gear 2000rpm = .......

oh a couple of other answers might help aswell....

5th gear 30mph = .......RPM

5th gear 100mph = .......RPM (only for the people who have done it on private roads)

thanks

Firstly it's not a BMW box, they build rear wheel drive cars, the CDTi MGR car is FWD, it is a Getrag gearbox. Well built & well able to take increased torque.

As regards ratios vs speed, couldn't give accurate answers, but as I said previously, in top gear, 1000RPM = 30MPH, therefore 100 MPH = 3300 RPM.

Just go & buy one, you know you want to!

Regards, Rob.

Got the gear ratios here, you should be able to work out the speeds at various RPM from them.

1st: 3.577
2nd: 2.022
3rd: 1.292
4th: 0.919
5th: 0.686
Final: 3.737

mph per 1000 rpm in 5th: 29.2

Edit: btw, make sure you get a Rover Ron Box for it, it transforms the car - More info here: http://forums.mg-rover.org/forumdisplay.php?f=139

On the CDTi it adds around 20-25bhp.

sorry already knew it wasnt a BMW box, just rushed typing it last night.... just ment the box that goes on the BMW lump, as its going to have longer ratios being a powerful DERV, than the little 120 1.8 16V lump.........
but knowing now ive just said that, its most proberly got the same ratios

i know you already answered before, but you did say 100mph = 3000ish rpm.... just wanted it in every gear...

jesus steve, your in the know how, wasnt expecting an answer like that, but i cant thank you enough for the response..... only problem is ive got to work it all out now.....

i totaly understand all the ratios but my biggest problem is the final drive???? ive never quite understood where that figure comes from, and how you use it to work at the gear speeds????
