Relocate horns - italian question (smile)
When two months ago I bought my TF the most funny thing I discored was the horns position.
Whe you use horns (as you know in Italy we use them quite often in the traffic !!!!) it seems your horns are in the gloves compartment, the noise is more strong in the passengers compartment than in the road. I'm looking to move them in the front behind the bumper, closed to the radiator. Has some one any advice or experience |

I find the horns to be loud enough outside of the car as well.
Do you have one or 2? |

I fitted air horns to mine, put them behind the spare wheel well (take the plastic cover out) and they point straight down onto the tarmac.
Fittes the compressor in the same space, on the vertical behind the ABS pump, and the relay as well. All you can see is a wire coming off the standard horns to switch the relay. If I forget to disarm the alarm before opening the boot, you know about it. The neighbours actually don't ignore it!!!! |

Could the problem be that, as it's a left-hand drive car and the horn is on the right, this is why it seems louder on the passenger side? Stand in front of the car and get someone to press the horn and I'm sure you'll see it sounds as it should. Or I could be completely wrong........it has been known!

It was one of the first thing I noticed, as I bought my TF! A friend of mine, who was sitting beside me, asked " hey, has this car the horns inside the glovebox?" . Now I don't care it more, perhaps the LHD compartment design increases this feeling.... ![]() |

when I get around to it I intend to put some old Fiamm air horns on mine (out of my stash of Lancia spares) as the standard horn is hopeless, I agree though that the horn does sound remarkably loud in the cabin I think it's because with no engine in the front there is much less sound insulation than on a 'normal' car
