MG Finally HAVE A MODEL!

GREAT VALUE NEW MG - the TF 135

MG has launched the new MG TF135 with an unbeatable price of just £13,511 on the road. With the government’s recently announced scrappage scheme, the price of the car has tumbled to a fantastic £11,511.

• MG TF 135 from just £11,511
• Signature mid engine, rear wheel drive sportscar
• Six new colours and new wheel design

Jack Safiruddin, Sales & After sales Operations Manager for MG, said;

“The MG TF LE500 was well received thanks to its amazing specification and we expect the new MG TF 135 to be equally popular thanks to its compelling price tag. Initial models will also be fitted with leather interior at no cost to the customers.”

A range of new colours, new wheels, new trim and a new ICE will set the 135 apart from its LE brother. Yet it maintains the refinements that have made the brand’s eagerly awaited return to production so rewarding for those taking delivery of the latest cars.

Jack concluded; “The MGTF 135 complements the MGTF LE500 and the new MGTF 85th Anniversary thanks to its competitive price point. This 135 mainline model goes back to the roots of the TF as a classy sportster for everyone to enjoy. There is growing interest in MG and we remain delighted with the way the brand has returned to the market.”

Just a shame its not an all new car, but hopefully this means that if they are pleased with the response to MGs relaunch that they will launch a new MG hopefully a British built 6,

Have to say every time I see the TF I remember just what a good looking car it is.

It's hard not to admit that the TF is still a great looking car, especially in that new metalic red, but I can't help but feel it's not enough. At least they've been realistic with the pricing.

At this rate it could become an icon! I don't think it will last as long as the Range Rover. That thing is a success story and icon, but the TF will be remembered by MG Fan's (Enthusiasts).

Well I don't think the TF LE 500 sold that badly, or was even that "problematic". I mean this will be a bit sugar coated. But I think the LE 500 was a test car. To see if MG was viable at all in the UK, same with MG in Chile. The TF 135 will be a car that will properly be around for four years so get used to it. With the 85th Anniversary something pop's to mind. They have only just finished a limited edition, do they really need another? I mean MINI release "Special Editions" all the time. So much that they are not so Special, I just don't want MG to do that.

The thing that got me on the LE 500 was the price, alright it's not Jaguar expensive, but it is overpriced. I know it's a Special car. MG are doing the right thing, it does not seem "enough" mainly because you have seen this car lot's of times and it's long in the tooth. But when the MG 6 comes along it will be a different ball park.

Ever heard of this phrase?

"Money makes the world go round"

This phrase is synonymous with the demise of MG Rover, the lack of new Rover models and the interior in the MG TF.

I suspect the problem is packaging, there isn't a lot of room to make any meaningful changes.

Lovley colour, but not the most inspiring photgraphy. They should let me have a crack at it.

And there is little point in SAIC spending money on a car that is very close to the end of it's lifespan.

I was quite interested until I saw the interior. It seems like quite a step back from the R75/MG ZT, even for a little roadster. I'm still not completely put off though but I think some people might be.

Tbh after a 3 year gap, i reckon they were expecting there to be queues for those 500... I mean 500 cars in a country with 65 million people... and they havent sold them all months later. I think there probably doing more harm than good to the MG brand name. Mainly bad reviews in the press too, it just doesnt look good.

Wasn't the focus of the bad reviews the high price though?

Still a nice car but £11k for a car that is the same as the wife's that I paid £2k for just doesn't swing to be honest.

The badge shot is a nice shot, #1 and #2 are pants and #3 looks like it's been badly cropped. I hope none of my eds would run those pics if I submitted them. The first one is especially poor, does NOTHING for the car at all.

Please do not forget that the LE 500 they made are just things there banging out of Birmingham because they can. The real relaunch is starts now with the 135 and I am sure we will see better cars like the 6. Also to respond to great kahn about not many people buying the car's. The real reason is lack of advertising. And why would you advertise a 15 year old car as new?

You can say that again! It was high because it was a special edition.

It is rather pants really. At least it's not that dull business park backdrop that MGR was so fond of.

You do wonder how these photos come about though. They have a brand "new" sports car to advertise... "Hey look, shove it infront of that wall over there and take a pic, brilliant!".
