my 2003 mgtf 135
here are photo's of my tf for sale.
the exacts of sale are a little up in the air at the moment, i havent test driven the replacement yet (that is tuesday) but all being well, i will agree the deal tomorrow. the car is going in the deal as a part ex.... but the dealer will just send it to auction and it will not be loved like i have over the last 7 years. photo's to follow, information after. the plate is to be transferred on to new car. I am away this saturday, but will be back on the sunday morning. The car has some fun modifications.... whoever hands me the £2k part ex offered on the car can have it and enjoy it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

the car has a good high mileage on it, but this car has been with me day in, day out for the last 7 years.... on average, thats 16k a year, which isnt stupidly high.
all the good and bad stuff that this car has gone through has been written about on this forum. i wont lie to anyone about anything, time is my biggest problem, the car has a few niggles which need to be ironed out. the front suspension needs to be greased.. it creaks from time to time,it sounds bad when rolling along with no audio playing but it should be a simple fix, but i dont own a grease gun so havent got round to doing it myself. tiny hole in roof... its about 1mm diameter, its been like that for years, doesnt leak. dashboard bulb needs replacing.... there are two bulbs that illuminate the speedo and rev counter... one of the bulbs died, i have two blue LED replacements to do the job but again, i havent found time since moving house to remove the unit and replace.. full instructions to do job can be found on the forum, not a difficult task. one heater dial needs replacing... the shaft cracked and left the metal connector on the spindle... new dial from a breakers yard and replace, simple job. rust...couple of rust bubbles on boot and one on the screen surround. as i mentioned before, trying to be brutally honest, the car has some little niggles but nothing massive to deal with. the good stuff. it had the LR head gasket improvement made circa 44k miles and has been solid since, it had new cambelt and underfloor coolant pipes done at the same time. water pump was changed last year, new battery about a month ago. about months ago, got a heavy duty clutch and flywheel fitted (cost £400) which makes the gear changes nice and light. the car has got xpower lowering springs fitted MS quick shift MS windstop K+N filter enclosed in a rover 800 airbox with 100mm ventilation to floor of engine bay Alpine mp3 cd player with 6 cd mp3 bootchanger and remote control clifford concept 600 alarm. do a search on the net for what the concept alarm has. it has the remote intellistart so can start the car from comfort on inside... alarm has blackjax as well, so a code has to be entered every time car started, otherwise the engine automatically stops, so even if you are in the car and someone hi jacks it, they are unable to steal car. how can i forget, it has arguably the best exhaust for the car. Not only is it a TT, but a TTn. Prototype #0 made by Neil.. IIRC, there are four exhausts made to this specification so its super super rare. and the noise... OMG.... its the nicest sounding exhaust you will ever hear from a tf. Shell hears me coming home from work from about half a mile away. another thing. the entire front end got resprayed by a porsche specialist last year after the limo car caught my front wing. minimal damage, but after complaining to insurers, i got it repaired to highest standard. the car has full service history, its been to techspeed several times for work done and they are proper MG specialists. i have never let cowboys work on my car. there is probably a load of other stuff to mention as well... basically, the dealer have offered me £2k as a trade in. its going to them, but the car has so much to offer to someone who can spend a good few hours on the little niggles and it would be a travesty to let the exhaust go with the car to auction. i live in alcester which is near to stratford upon avon. if anyone can get to mine one night or on sunday, offer me £2k in cash or do something securely, we can sort something out. |

Yes I agree a hell of a lot of car for that money. and to my mind the high milage is more than compensated for by the high spec, and full service history, plus its a known car every single niggle over 7 years is on forum, for all to see. Try getting that on ebay or admart. ![]() Fi wanted it but with us getting married in August, money is so tight sadly we have to miss it, Hey A thought just crossed my mind, as we both know the exhaust alone is worth £350 as I now have yours at that price. So the car is actually £1650. even better.

anel decided against it... someone else from on here came over, gave it a test and i think fell in love with it... hopefully, he can continue to cherish it and get many years of happiness like i have so far.

T'is a sad day indeed Deano but glad it's going to an enthusiast rather than being traded in

i could have so easily traded it in, but that way, god knows what would have happened to the car at auction... at least this way i think the car is going to a good home and will be looked after properly.

Sad day, but at least you did the right thing in selling her rather than trading her. The price is the same, but at least she has gone to a good home rather than being shuffled around between trader and potential buyers.
