Rover 45 2005 facelift model 10000 miles, won't start unlocks with fob however when key is turned to enable the ignition the central locking tries to unlock and the hazards come on, car can be cranked but fails to start, any thoughts

Won't start

Hi

If your immobiliser light is on on the dash board you will require the EkA code which will over rided the immobiliser so you would then be able to start your vehicle.

He said it cranks so it is not the immobiliser coming on.
Sounds like either the central locking playing games or the SCU to me.

Plus, EKA entry is decidedly "dodgy" on facelift cars.

to the OP. Will it keep cranking or just turn over once and stop once the central locking kicks in?
When you say the hazards "come on", do you mean they stay on or just give the "car locked" flash sequence?

Problem sorted, I found that the cable to the fuel cut off switch was not fully pushed home, now starting again without any problems, many thanks for taking the time to reply to my post
