Question Mg Ztt Radio Connections

hI THERE . Got an 03 reg ztt , fitted kenwood radio in using ISO harness, but FM reception is dreadful,

does anyone know what the single free wire that comes out of the radio harness is for?

is it the positive feed for the aerial amplifier?

hopeful some one will help here as the local Mg dealer hasn't got a clue

regards mike

I believe its for the telephone mute. Don't quote me on that, but mines the same and the FM reception is fine. Is the aerial wire secured in the socket? I used a bit of tape to hold the two ends together - if they came apart (its not a good fit) then the reception went.

I assume the signal was alright with the previous radio before you changed to this one?

It may be worth (if you still have the previous one) to test it to see if it does the same - one of the wires may have got caught or are getting cross-interference from the power wires there too?

Well the Kenwood OE units are plug and play so there should be no problem doing what you're doing.

It does indeed sound as though the aerial amplifier +ve switch wire isn't connected.

JCBZT160+ is your man I reckon.
