Choking/overfueling?

I have just replaced the fuel filter on my 1.4 400 after problems with it cutting out & stalling & this has sorted that problem, however the car now seems as though it is running with the "choke" on all the time & it does seem to be using more fuel than usual, any ideas on what could be amiss? is it possible to be a duff filter?

Don't know for sure but perhaps the ECU has to adept for the new conditions(whilst driving)Or reset the iddle ignition position 2 and throttlepedal 5 times to the floor (Works with R45,don't know about R400)
