There will be dealers yes, i think the list is on the new website.

Incidentally, why is the BBC saying its the first new MG for 16 years? ZR, ZS, ZT? Do they not count?

For some reason they don't include the ZR, ZS & ZT as they were reworks of the 25, 45, 75, they always say about the first all NEW MG, which would put it back to the launch of the F.

They said 6 years, Although that's still incorrect as the new TF has been built there the past few years.

Reading some of the reviews and they do report a few niggles. Although most seem to think it could be a goer in the market if presented right.

I just hate the baby nappy colour...

Which is stupid since MGs heritage is reworking other cars.

And because the MG6 is technically a reworked Roewe 550

It would probably come close to the top of my list if i were in the market for a new car though.

'fraid to say it is just another Japoreaeuro box to me, has no style of panache as we have with the 75/ZT, so doesn't get my vote. The MG7 on the other hand....well.............nice, maybe something to do with the fact I still like the ZTT.

Regards, Rob.

This should be in the MG6 section really. it is a shame that the 6 is getting the bashing it has been on here in general, not to mention the MG3 and now the MG5.

MG are starting fromt he ground up, they are producing more modern and mainstream cars, they have to do this to survive, they cant build outdated models and keep retro looks, it simply is not viable.

I had a Honda ZS so the fact that an MG may look japanese doesn't worry me at all

I don't think it looks like a toyota at all though, Most modern cars are starting to look quite similar these days due to having to build them around safety guidelines, It's not as striking as the mk1 focus or Audi TT were when first launched but compared to a lot of new car designs these days i don't think it's too bad and stands out compared to Toyota's latest efforts. Once they build a fast version with a body kit i think some people will change their minds.

For me, its more to do with how a car drives and from what i hear the 6 is a pretty good performer in that area and with the new focus going soft it should have a market

I won't be looking at buying a new car any time in the near future though so my opinion won't help them sell even one

Much as I loved my 75, Simon is spot on. It would be nice to think that a manufacturer could survive by providing cars for what is realistically a niche market. The truth is that Euroboxes sell in millions (take a look next time you're in a supermarket), whilst cars with individual style and shapes sell in thousands. Like everything else nowadays, cash and profit is God. Any new car which retains the old style and class will cost you over 50 grand (if you can find one)

I totally agree,I was walking through the car park, past alot of new cars and got to my car and thought, that looks classic and when I looked inside I thought there is no other car out their at the moment that builds a car like the 75.I can pretty much buy a wide range of new cars if I wanted - but just dont choose to as there isnt anything I like as much as the 75 It was ahead of the field in alot of ways
Now if the MG7 got sold here Id probably get one!!

Really? There's not much cabin space to spare so I assume they've shortened the boot and/or bonnet?
