BMW 1-series ad, with tortoises

Have anyone seen that ad?
I think it is a silly idea to put tortoises in the ad. Visually linkings says that car is as slow as a tortoise, which it is! A ZR105 can probably beat a 116!
Smart thinking from BMW? I think not!

I thought it made sense. The collapsing horse, tricycles and tortoises are supposed to represent the other cars in the 1-series "sector". Although I dont know how big the sector in over-priced turd-like cars is?

They are rather strange ads. Got people talking though, great soundtrack aswell.

Only one thing wrong with the ads I reckon, the hideous thing they are advertising!

Took me a couple of watches to get it...

The full length ad has the following at the end:

"The only one in it's class with a valvetronic engine"
"The only one in it's class with rear wheel drive"
"The only one in it's class with near-perfect balance"

With appropriate images in the background.

Anyone know what the music is?

Yup, the music is from the new Prodigy album....and it's chuffin' bangin'!! I was playing it quite loudly at the last Waterman meet....

The tune is called "(You'll be) Under my wheels"

I'm thoroughly addicted to playing it....even if it is used on a B*W advert....

Absolutely cracking!!

It's the most played CD in my car at the moment without a doubt! I'd recommend it to anyone - but then I'm one of their biggest fans, so I would say that!

I am not sure but it seems like only the 120's engine has the Valvetronic technology, which wasn't mentioned in the ad?
Misleading ad!
Call the ASA!

I think you sumed the ad up perfectly!
Like that track though. You can always tell how successful a car ad is by counting how many times that music is used on tv programmes.

You can also tell how successful a group are by how many of their tracks are used on T.V, films or adverts....which makes the Prodigy very successful!

So you think it's worth down...*ahen* buying then? Used to be really into the Prodigy, not that I'm not anymore..I just don't listen to them as often as I should!

Is the same track played in all the different BMW 1 series ad's? I really should pay more attention..lol

Without wishing to derail this thread...I don't think it is a patch on Fat of the Land.
