TS Autos
On Friday i was driving when the alternator light came on and the power steering stopped working. A quick check under the bonnet revealed the auxiliary drive belt was shredded. I had a look at the car yesterday and discovered that the idler pulley had disintegrated. I called Terry in hope, and less than 2 hours later the car was at Terrys with a replacement pulley and belt being fitted, less than 3 hours after phoning i was on my way home with a fully repaired car. What superb service that could not be bettered anywhere. Thanks for a great job Terry.

Interesting sage: Would love to know how you coped to achieve. If you had it transported, ok but how hard was it to steer? What mileage did the belt go at? if you got there by manual steering, how far did you have to drive and roughly how long did it take? I've met Terry and fully agree with your comments. John

The mileage when the pulley disintegrated (which in turn caused the belt to fail) was 131420, i had to drive 10 miles back home after the belt went and a further 10 miles the next day to get to Terry. i charged the battery up on Saturday before going to Terrys, but there was not much life left in it when i got there, Terry kindly charged it for me while he was repairing my car. The steering was very heavy, and i ended up with arm muscles like Popeye after taking spinach.

![]() I assume Jamesh has a V6, as the diesel auxiliary belt also drives the water pump, and you would overheat the engine in no time if you carried on after it had gone. Mike Last edited by Mike Noc; 15-01-2012 at 19:41. |
