Hi, I have just changed my anti-freeze today, drained and flushed twice, but I can get less than 3 litres back in, surely thats not enough?

there will still be an amount in the matrix. I had this when I drained cooling system in my mondeo 2.0 and capacity is 6 litres approx and I got 3.5 in.

Have you run the engine with the expansion cap off? Could be an airlock that needs to bubble it's way out.

the system holds 5.8ltrs but then the question is how much came out?ive never found the bleed screw much use as its not at the highest point in the system!the expansion tank is,also just running it doesnt always seem to get it to bleed,i found get it on a slope or jack up front a bit(assuming your expansion tank is at front of bay)fill up as normal with heater valve open(hot)check its moving freely on bulkhead.then drive it a couple of miles pull over and check level again top up as nescessary, this method always worked best for my k series car

Thanks for all replies, checked all again, heater hot, radiator hot, top and bottom hoses hot, so hoping all is now ok.
