Dacia Duster
Quite like the look of this car you know, and philosophy of keep it simple.
Low emissions, 4x4, good MPG, the reports are good and the car is a cracking price. I have my name for a test drive when it is launched. Anyone got any first hand experience of them yet?

Prices start from around £11k, to about £16k for the 4x4. Specs are 'adequate' with alloys, electric windows & locking etc. on the top ones
Petrol 1.6 or a very quite 1.5DCi diesel, which is the better engine evidently. Not verified as yet as not launched in UK till a bit later in the year. Selling well in Europe though.

Nice to see they took design inspiration from the MK2 ZR for the middle top of the dash.
You can see a certain budget look to some of the plastics and details though, reminds me of an old Renault van. |

I've liked the look of them since it was first spied testing. Clearly built to a budget but does what it says on the tin. The reviews would suggest that its previous gen Clio underpinnings arent holding it back either.
Ironically, its not a million miles away from the drawings of the proposed "high roofed" R25 drawings that ive seen. |

The write up I linked to without reading is hilarious! I reckon it is Romainian translated by Bablefish to Japanese, & then to English.
How can we argue with this for instance: Sure, you can hear with a diesel to be in but you are not old-fashioned way rattling of your chair. His sound here seems more to bear fruit. And although the engine six speed up quite short in the round works at tempos highway, the diesel never interferes with his work sounds. And not forgetting this of course: The spicy dCi has never been trouble for the masses (1269 kg) of the Duster. Even at higher speeds becomes the fut terrible. Good to know it becomes the fut terrible even at higher speeds. |

Looks quite nice on the outside, but the interior is from the 90s and its all Renault underneath.

Dacia should remake this commercial to promote it.

![]() To be fair, 11k for a softy roader? Thats just insane money, I reckon they'll find loads of homes as shopping trolleys, which, when you consider a new base model Clio is £11.5k, isn't that much of a hard sell. Last edited by STEVEN_NORFIELD; 17-02-2012 at 20:47. |
