Thermostat on a Rover 45 Diesel?

Hi, looking for a thermostat for a diesel Rover 45 was quoted 30 for one from Seward and pretty sure i can fine one cheaper then that.

They the same throughout the L-Series range?

Is this the part number for it? PBM100040.

Thanks Chris.

Wrong.

A thermostat with that part number will definately 100% fit all L-series engines where the thermostat is located within the lower half of the Oil Cooler. It is also a series one Freelander part, and is rated at 82C.

Correct. Looks exactly the same as the one I purchased. I never fitted it (didn't need it afterall) but sold it to ZRCH4S who fitted it to his.

If your thermostat locates in the lower half of the oil cooler then it's the correct part, no question.

Old thread but relevant. How do you tell which version of the thermostat is needed? Apparently there are two types for the 45 diesel.

Look. If there is a big plastic housing on the front of the engine then its the earlier thermostat. If not then it is inside the oil cooler and is a conventional type thermostat.
