Been busy on the car
Removed the interior etc, front wings, front bumper, rear bumper, replaced all doors, boot
Removed all this wiring from the drivers door

Earth wiring nearly sheared so will fix that

Using up my spare panels, nearside front on

Nearside rear on

Check the gaps

For its age and who it was made by it's survived pretty well, just curious though the original boot lid doesn't look that bad what were the reasons for the change?

All round the bottom lip is rust, and more on the inside of it

Friend of mine is doing the welding for me on monday, in the meantime I have been rummaging through one of my spares sheds to find these. All were free and collected over the years
Various rare clips/trim

These hold the front bottom door trays to the doors

Old style doorcard trims were glued to the doorcards and rather useless, the upgrade were these.

Rare trim from the rear arches, new one donated by a friend

Unsure whether to put electric rear windows in yet, but I have complete plug in wiring looms and switches

With so many new parts and replacement panels in good condition that can be protected better with modern processes and more care that originally put into the cars build this is going to be an awesome looking example by the end

Glad to see this being restored my dad had an old 1.6L estate donkeys years ago when I was a kid and I just remember it slowly rusting away, it went through 3 drivers doors and a tailgate while we had it through rust!

Garages
I'd fit the rear leccy windows since the car is in a fit state to do so.

Hope that battery is disconnected

A lot of prep work to be done on the shell, but with so many parts off or coming off at least you'll be able to get into every crease and fold before the respray

What is the state of the B pillar where it meats the sill? IIRC thats another classic area for these to rust!
