lupo/arosa
My girlfriend is on about getting a Lupo/arosa 1.4 tdi, does anyone know if vw group have any plans to change these models/ facelift them anytime soon? She doesnt want to buy one and then have the old shape (fickle women eh!).

Had a quick look in Auto Distress and they don't mention a new VW Lupo or Seat Arosa but do mention a VW Fox supermini coming in 2005. This might be different to the Lupo/Arosa though which are City cars really. Otherwise not sure sorry.

As I understand it, the Arosa is now out of production (simply selling stock from now on) and the Lupo will follow suit shortly afterwards. The 'Fox' (may still end up being called Lupo) is a Brazilian-built city car which, although slightly larger than the current car, will still be sub-Polo when on sale in 2005. So, yes, the Lupo is being replaced but the final Euro-version of the car has yet to be seen.

Yes... the car will be no more in 2005..... they are finishing production completely...
Apparently demand for such small cars is not high enough to justify the development costs... simply because the cost concious buy cheaper brands.... and those not cost concious buy Polo's / Ibizas.... |

yea, went into a vw and seat dealers yesterday, I must say, they cant be ar$$Ed selling us a car. That was before we even mentioned the fact we were looking at lupo/arosa. After hearing about the FOX thing my girlfriend asked if they were changing the lupo, the guy avoided the question and went on to someithng else until he was asked again.
We also went into Citroen to have a look at the c2 ( although I didnt really want to as I just thought of the dreaded Saxo). I was actually quite impressed with it. They did seem to actually want to sell cars in there as well. Not to sure on the gearnob that lights up though- tacky or what. I think I may have persuaded her to go for a 25 2.0td although even she notices that its the same basic shape since she got her old clio (97p). Surely it couldnt have cos them that much to do a re-skin? Isnt that what Vauxhall did with the current corsa? Cheers Paul |
