Human drugs trade.

Degree in physiology/pharmacology, decided I hated lab work after spending a year with a company near Chester stripping skin from amputed legs to analyse the leg ulcers (one of the worst smells you can experience).

Now work for a CRO getting approvals for clinical trials/marketing authorisations and providing chem dev consultancy to the pharma industry. Been through various generic and mid-size pharma companies before that.

Probably has a MGB through nostalga rather than it being any good. In the same way as I would quite like to own a Triumph Spitfire cos I had one in my youth.
I have an MGTf cos its all I coild afford. A poor mans sports car. If I was on a better wage, my car would reflect my earnings and I would be in a better car.
In my opinion, the only thing "sporty" about a TF is that it has 2 seats. Lol

First Job at 17/18 was an "outside manager" of a local boating lake, kids slides and attractions for a local cafe/beauty spot..

Was there for a year or so and finished my Alevels(all crappy grades).. i "relaxed" for a weekend and then on the monday im a Software Developer for a local but niche software company.. have been there aproaching a year now and the MGF was is first car.. loved it ever since

First job at 17 was insurance clerk progressed to area manager, gave up work aged 30 to bring up my son. Worked for NHS as a practice manager for the past 12 years and more recently became a member of the clinical commissioning committee for Redbridge. Mostly boring stuff and nowhere near as exciting as some others on this thread.

Last year I worked it out that my wife's mecedes cost me almost 20 times the cost of my MGF, ergo, and MGF is all I can now afford...... (well, I drive it because I always wanted an MG but with a pack of kids it was 7 seater Volvos and the likes before they all shoved off) (oh, okay, hers was new and we have had it a few years now, but you understand I am sure...)

I was a Credit Manager in a Paint Company for 30 years, before I decided I did not enjoy it anymore, and took early retirement in Aug 2008!

Now spend my time doing odd jobs for folks, gardening, decorating etc, or just messing about at home in my garden or garage.

Days seem to go by so quickly I really don't know how I found the time to work!

Obviously that's where you and I differ.

There are a lot of more expensive cars out there, but are they better, or are they just a symbol of your wealth.

I'm not wealthy, but I could afford more expensive if I wanted, I just don't want. I can't imagine many cars that offer me the same package that the MG offers. I have never owned a car as long as I have the TF and never had as much fun owning any other car.

True, the TF isn't the ultimate status symbol or symbol of wealth, but it is the symbol of good and friendly people, owners who care about having fun rather than flashing a badge at people as they hog the fast lane.

If I won big on the lottery tonight I would still have the 2 TFs on my drive. Yes, they would have some very expensive friends, but they would still take pride of place and be very very pampered.
