Intel Favored Over AMD Among Gamers

According to Valve software, the makers of the extremely popular game Half Life 2, have shown that the majority of the gamers surveyed in the Valve survey are using Intel processors with 52.66% and 47.33% respectively.

ATI also trails rival NVIDIA for graphics cards with around 50.74% using NVIDIA based cards and 41.04% for ATI based cards. ATI’s 9600 and 9800 series of graphics cards are the leading graphics cards on the survey.

Most PC manufacturers still use Intel, but AMDs 64bit chips are the better gaming chips. Most home made PCs are based on AMD chips though.

Very true but there are still a lot of people who go out and buy a complete PC rather than build one themselves because they can't. I haven't built a PC with an Intel chip for years. Can't see a need

AMD + ATI all the way. going 64bit when summer hits, and will stick with my 9800pro until i can afford something a bit more PCIe special. just cant justify not paying rent but having an X800XT...

Intel are high street PC's friend, cos the entire world knows of them, say AMD to mr dumb-none-computer-person and they look blankly at you. but im still an AMD fan... my XP3200+ is alrite. dont trust intel.... dont know why

i always built AMD & ATI myself but I got 'boared' ( haha bored ) of them, however my fave build was my first the 1.2 TUALATIN celeron which was definately my most stable, I'm thinking of going back to Intel for my next build. Altho theres no need for it, just an excuse to waste some cash £££
