Get the haynes out.

I spent ages getting the rear seats out of my Clio following the haynes. Didn't get hardly anywhere, my brother came along and withing 1 minute they were all out. So my advice, if you don't have a haynes, is to just attack it.

It's really easy to remove the rear seats. Open the boot and look at where the seat back meets the floor, and where the seat splits should be a little bolt. Remove this and the seats just lift out with a little wiggle.

You can't go wrong, just go for it. Failing that, do a search as I'm sure there are countless guides already written.

I don't think hitting and beating your poor defenseless back seat will help.....

Piece of pee-pee

As Liam said, take the carpet up at the back to undo the bolts holding the seats in place. Pull them out and then there are a further 3 bolts holding the rear bench in. They are just as easy to take out. Then the rear bench folds forward to take it out.

Know that feeling! You spend all your 'study' time planning what you're going to do to your car over a glorious lazy summer. I've already bought loads of bits and bobs for it but just can't be bothered starting!
