Tail Lights
Guys,
Anyone know the part number and wattage of the rear tail lights for the ZR? I think they are 10w but need to be sure. Got an intermitant problem. Sometimes when i turn the lights on, the rear nearside fails to light. Other times it's fine. Bulb looks to be ok, and all circuit is fine, dry and clean. Put a new bulb in (but not the right one for the job) just to see if it was the socket, and it worked fine. Put the old one back in and nothing! What is odd though, if i leave the lights on for a while, it will come on after a few minutes. I think it's a dodgy bulb. Any idea's? I need a part number for them too if anyone know's of it? |

Sounds like the bulb is dodgy, probably worth replacing it.
Easiest way is to take the old bulb out of the cluster, go to local car accessory shop and find one the same. Halfords will actally list which bulb is the right one for your car with their little card thingys by the bulbs. |

You don't need a part number just take it to wherever you're getting the bulb from and match it up. They usually have a list of compatible types anyway.
The rating should be on the bulb. The bulb should be a 245/12v/10w |

hey had that problem with my old 200 , check out the connector to the cluster, one of my strips of metal was slightly bent & so occastionally came away from the rest, it was always dodgy sometimes it didn't work then a comedy HIT to it ( as your hit a tv or monitor *thud* ) & it worked again, lol until I could be arsed to look at it.....
perhaps its your problem too ?? |

I did have a brief look at that electrical connection last night, but light was poor so couldn't really see much.
You could well be right. I'll have another look either later if i get the time, or tomorrow. Thanks for the bulb info too. I must admit i was leaning towards it being a faulty bulb, and so replacing them would cure it. Non of the metal strips are bent, i'm sure of that, but the actual wire in the connector that clips to the tail light bulb, may not be pushed home properly. Thanks for all you advice and help, very much appreciate it. I'll have a look later. |
