Track Days and Drag Strip

Track Day

The time schedule has been altered to accommodate people who work Sat. mornings and those who travel from further afield

Format of the day:
  • 11am-3pm Track Day (for road cars)
  • 3pm-6pm Race Cars
  • 6pm-8pm Drag Racing
SWRC events run quickly and smoothly, with no unnecessary delays between races. You can enjoy constant track activity all day from the track session, throughout the entire race program and the drag strip competition.

For further information Contact: Wayne Owens at wayne@sideways-racing.co.uk (07791) 976672

Again I say that ALL CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENTS are welcome.

SideWays Racing Club would like to extend an invitation to all female car enthusiasts (that's polite for Nutty Chick Racers!) to come and have a go in our Track & Race events.

We usually try to classify the track-day entries into cars of similar performance and standard when letting them out on to the track. We will give all you girls your very own category. You can blast around as fast as you can or tiddle round at your leisure, with no boys to bother you. Not that we don't think you couldn't show a lot of the boys how it should be done!

Let's have your support for this girls. All you need is a helmet (borrow one) and your driving licence (this is not the place to learn to drive and we must do what we can to prevent accidental damage.)

Increasing Support

Recently we have had increasing support for a Lotus Se7en type racing class. To date we have had Westfield, Triton, Dutton and Locost racers with a variety of power plants in the Open Class and these have proved very popular with spectators. Almost as popular as the gaint killing Honda-Super-Mini! I have also heard news of some other interesting machinery comming our way. Being a fan of Jap-scrap, I for one can't wait to see the BMW-300ZX and for the return of those awesome Skylines!! (I hear Smiley is even ditching the Sub in favour of a new Skyline.)
