As far as I can work out, that is all on the PDF which accompanies it and I have that. It is a web browser type set up!
Its just that I installed it on my So PC but she has moved out and taken it with her and I cant try it out to see if it is necessary. I need to sell it but the installation CD is in 3 parts . It is actually a resource CD and it seems to include a "smart install wizard, a PDF and some 'extra software'". From reading the OPDF it seems to tell you everything. Just wondered if anyone could confirm that |

I've got one - doesn't the wizzard just come up in the web browser the first time you browse it? You certanly don't need any software once its set up, you just need to know its IP address and password.

Don't worry - just list it as "minus the CD (not required) setup via built in web server".
The new owner will need the IP address and password though - very important. Also is it the V2 version - worth mentioning if it is otherwise don't mention it. |

Yes its v2.
Windy, does this lok familiar 'Connect to the router by typing http://192.168.0.1 in the address filed of Internet Explorer or Netscape® Navigator. Log in to the router b. For security reasons, the router has its own user name and password. When prompted, enter admin for the router user name and password for the router password, both in lower case letters. " Edit, on second thoughts I suppose each one will have a different address |

That is the LAN address for my router - I guess its the default and being a local LAN address can be used by everyone - its the WAN address that everyone has different unless its using DHCP to get one automatically (which most people will be).
That not my password though. You can change password, LAN address and WAN address. |

nowt to be confused over. Different manufacturers of routers have different Router addresses. netgear use 192.168.0.1 with the user name: admin and the pass: password .
Some other ones use 192.168.1.1 or 11.1 or whatever. you can also have Administrator:Password, or admin:admin . As long as whoever gets the router knows what address, and what login info, then that's really all they need. The external address of the router (the WAN address) isn't something you'd know, as it's governed by the internet service provider. Hope that clears things up for you ![]() Just make sure there wasn't any other stuff on the CD that they may be missing out on. |

it should say it on the back of the router, it certainly does on mine.
make sure you remove any proxy settings before browsing to it though. |

Just a note that the MAC address is also configurable. If it were mine and I had changed it from default (whats written on the back) then I would put it back to its own MAC address before selling it - don't want anyone else using your MAC address! |
