  1. Please recommend to me an auto electrician

    MGF and MGTF
Update on issue None of the suggestions worked, so I made contact with Paul Technofrozen, he advised me to send him the SCU and fobs and he could fix it. It was very easy to remove the SCU despite being behind the radio and only took me 5 minutes to remove. My SCU was with him for a day...
  2. Please recommend to me an auto electrician

    MGF and MGTF
I have got the TF out from it's winter hibernation and both remote keys wont start it. It's the later style Pektron fobs. I have done some research on here and found I have the same problem as many others have: Flat battery has lost the link between the fobs and the immob unit. I tried the...

  9. Help please with Daignosis :-(

    Diesel Forum!
I have started a new thread for this because my issue is evolving and has now taken me in a new direction: Car died last week suddenly, and has not fired since at all. I have checked fuel, earth leads and pump belt, all OK. I had a good read through some pages about the VP30 an failures. I...

  12. Car died - suspect PG5

    Diesel Forum!
Car dies suddenly today - Won't start at all. I have had a good read about the VP30 and suspect either the PsG5 module or Metering solenoid. It's a pity because it was running sweet, having just had a new set of oil cooler pipes, service, 4 new tyres and a full valet :frown: I'll check first to...
  13. Wanted Digimafam thingy

    Wanted
The box thingy that stops the car smoking due to having SDI injectors and turbo turned up. Thanks
  14. Engine feels like it is mis-firing - hardly runs at all now.

    Diesel Forum!
My suggestion to run the pipe direct from the tank was only a quick round the block to see if it worked. i didn't realize your car was running well for a 100 miles and then having a problem, my miss-understanding. I'm not sure how much you will be able see inside a tank even with a camera? As...
  15. Engine feels like it is mis-firing - hardly runs at all now.

    Diesel Forum!
Forget the EGR - red herring. If you are running well on a dummy tank and not on the regular tank then I would say the most likely cause is you have an air ingress somewhere in the fuel system its unlikely to be but not impossible a blockage in the fuel tank. There is no in-tank pump on these...

+1 Driving lumpy, down on power and then black smoke is a sure sign of fuel starvation. It is surprising how much effect a partially blocked fuel filter or the wrong or a faulty filter can effect diesels. I too had problems after changing a fuel filter - and I only fixed it after putting the...
  17. EML reset help please

    Diesel Forum!
I have been running with no MAF and Pins 1 & 5 shorted for the last 2 years. It has failed the MOT(edited for accuracy - I was informed that it would be an MOT fail, however currenlt this is not the case) on EML so I have purchased and re-fitted a new MAF but the EML is still on. How do I...
  18. Recent part failure disapointment.

    MGF and MGTF
Even though the garage are deliberately choosing to ignore me, I'm choosing not to name. It won't benefit me now the car is working great again and I expect no further communication will happen now. And it won't benefit you either, I'm sure when they fix your MG you will get the new pump you...
  19. Recent part failure disapointment.

    MGF and MGTF
I don't believe the pump has been sitting in a box for 12 years and then fitted last year. It looks old and original. If it was fitted last year it would still have a recognisable amount of newness to it. The new one stands out by miles. As said before. I'll have to take this on the chin and...
  20. Recent part failure disapointment.

    MGF and MGTF
yes I used sealant. I also agree that removing the tensioner screw was the scariest and potentially most likely to halt the job. It was extremely tight and it took me a while to fashion a lever to fit the end of the allen key to remove it, I did think it could slip and then I would have been in...
