  1. Rover 25 diesel limp home mode no throttle

    MG ZR / Rover 25, 200 & Streetwise
Almost certainly it is broken wiring on the throttle position sensor. It tends to break in side the protective covering where it goes around the bottom of the radiator. Remove the protection - repair the wires, re-install the protection and the problem will go away.
  2. Injector knocking - Possible VP37 problem?

    Diesel Forum!
For some reason I can't see the videos? Can anyone else see them?
  3. Head bolts?

    Diesel Forum!
You can re-use if they are within length spec and not damaged in any way. Too long and they have stretched too much and risk bottoming out when you try to tighten them up.
  4. Front brake discs/pads different on ABS models?

    Rover 600
Difference is only the size. 282mm are the larger ones. 260mm are the smaller ones I believe. Turbo petrol and bigger engined autos got the bigger discs.
  5. T16 rear Main Seal

    Others
The seal is common to the T series and L series engines. I'm not sure about the M series, but it could well be the same. It is a bolt on seal in a housing rather than just a big circular oil seal. Also may be available from landrover too (as the T series was used in that too 2.0MPi).
  6. What happened to roverdiesel.co.uk ??

    Diesel Forum!
Sorry it got hacked. It'll re-appear at some point when I get time to re-create it all again in a new format.
  7. Rover 25 diesel turbo engine whine

    MG ZR / Rover 25, 200 & Streetwise
Yeah that doesn't sound right. Is the PAS fluid low? If so top it up and see if the noise stops? If not then I'd be checking the aux belt tensioner and then the cam belt tensioner pronto.
  8. selling on sales area 600 sldi in charleston green

    Rover 600
    Mileage? Known faults?
  9. Cracked clutch arm on a 600 diesel - what a nightmare!

    Rover 600
I assume you swapped your existing arm onto the 200 box (as they are different - I also have a 200 box in mine). Perhaps the arm was already cracked? I've got one in the garage somewhere in a similar state (not from my car).
  10. 2004 Rover 45 diesel randomly cutting out whilst driving

    MG ZS / Rover 45 & 400
Check the wire from the battery earth to the slam panel (bonnet closing panel) as this is a common failure. Also when it happens check to see if the fuel priming bulb is sucked flat. If it is then it is a fuel supply problem (or a faulty priming bulb). Perhaps something floating around inside...
  11. Cracked clutch arm on a 600 diesel - what a nightmare!

    Rover 600
It is a reasonably common problem. I'll bet your 600 doesn't have its undertray on does it? The arm seizes in the box through lack of lubricant and water ingress and then the clutch slave either packs up or as the 600 slave is stronger than the 400 one, the arm can bend or break. They usually go...
  12. MG Zt-t

    MG ZT / Rover 75
The clutch is hydraulic so no adjustment is really possible other than making sure the pedal adjustment is correct. The usual problem is fluid leaks leading to the clutch not working or the pedal not returning from the floor! If it is working I'd leave well alone.
  13. MG Zt-t

    MG ZT / Rover 75
Yes the procedure is essentially the same as for the diesel, (same gearbox type). However unless the clutch is slipping or fluid is leaking then I'd leave it well alone.
  14. MGZR 160 VVC Gearbox Oil...

    MG ZR / Rover 25, 200 & Streetwise
The best option is MTF94. But so long as there is oil in there and it is changed at appropriate intervals there won't be any issues. The only exception is the torsen (LSD) equipped gearboxes which need the MTF94 to work correctly.
  15. Rover Streetwise Diesel Remapping

    Diesel Forum!
It is mappable via the OBD port.
  16. Help! 620 SDi, no power steering after refitting PAS pump

    Rover 600
I'm afraid I don't know whether the 200/400 25/45 etc fit. I suspect there could be differences from aircon to non aircon but I'll soon have to find out myself as my pump is dying for some reason. After 310k miles I can't really complain too much though.
  17. Rover 220sdi - ecu problem

    Diesel Forum!
Attach a jump lead from the negative terminal of the battery to the ECU metal case. Try starting it then - if all works normally rig up a permanent connection and owe me many favours!
  18. MGZR 160 VVC Gearbox Oil...

    MG ZR / Rover 25, 200 & Streetwise
That's engine oils not gear oils.
  19. rover 623 best engine oil,

    Rover 600
I made a big long post explaining about how oil grades worked but the forum ate it. In short use the right grade oil which in UK climates is 10w40 oil.
  20. rover 623 best engine oil,

    Rover 600
Everything in the UK I can find is 5w40 or 10w40 for the 623.
