Hi.
I was just wondering if there is anyone local in Plymouth who could help me.
I had my 45 in a garage recently because it's losing coolant, but not a lot.
Something is telling me that they have diagnozed HGF by default.
I'm not 100% convinced because other than a little coolant loss, there are no other symptoms.
So I was wondering if there are any members who have knowledge on this, who could give me a hand making sure it's not something else going on.
Or perhaps recommend me someone trustworthy who'll give me an honest apraisal.
Thanks.

The most common causes of coolant loss are the following:

Waterpump
Inlet manifold gasket
Split hose

can you see any visible loss? puddles on the floor etc?

Hi Kayleigh.
Thanks for your reply.
We did actually speak on the phone recently.
I sent you an email but as I didn't hear back, I assumed I was too far for you to travel too.
Anyway
There is no visible loss of coolant.
No white smoke
No "mayo" in the oil filler cap and dipstick.
No poor starting, rough running, or loss of power.
The only thing that started me worrying was a little coolant loss as I said, and I picked up a bit of white mayo like gunge with my finger which was stuck to the edge of the expansion tank.
I did check the inlet manifold gasket, and from the visible edges, it looks like new, so am guessing it has been changed recently (before I got the car).
